X-CALIBR™ Project: Matakana Shed

The requirements

Our Matakana customer needed a large shed for their rural section for storing boats, classic cars and gear. The shed needed to include a pitched roof and a mezzanine to maximise the available space in the shed.

The details 

• Building dimensions: 12m x 9m
• Knee height: 4m
• Manufacturing time: 3 days, all sections including staircases
• Products used: X-CALIBR™ rafters, columns and girts, CSF mezzanine supports and stairs, 89 mm steel framing
• Featuring: 4.45m x 6m mezzanine with 2.2m ground clearance

How Central Steel Framing delivered

Quick to install and accurate to within millimetres, the X-CALIBRTM structural roll-formed system was an obvious choice for this rural shed in Matakana. The 150mm roll-formed steel framing sections and Steel Joists were manufactured offsite by sister company, Rollforming Services. All X-CALIBR™ sections were manufactured by CSF then trucked to Matakana to be assembled as columns, rafters, purlins and girts.

The shed framing was installed swiftly with three workers. Thanks to the strength of X-CALIBRTM structural roll-formed system we were able to include a unique, 4.45m x 6m floating mezzanine. Job done.
