X-CALIBR™ Project: Tokoroa Pole Shed

The requirements 

An agricultural business in Tokoroa needed a large shed for storing farm implements. It was designed to have two open and one closed bays and all structural roll-formed steel needed to integrate with existing round timber poles.

The details 

• Building dimensions: 7m deep x 15m wide
• Manufacturing time: 2 hours
• Products used: X-CALIBR™ rafters and purlins.

How Central Steel Framing delivered 

Thanks to the versatility and lightweight strength of the X-CALIBR™ structural roll-formed system it was an easy choice for this project. This system can be supplied as a full portal structure or integrated into existing structural steel or timber framing (as it was for this shed).

Rafters and purlins were fully prefabricated offsite to significantly reduce installation time and material wastage. The prefab components were then transported to site and a small crew bolted them to existing round timber poles to quickly complete the structure. Beauty.
